States with Recoverable Oil

States with EOR potential

The US Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy has compiled a list of states with technically recoverable oil using CO2-EOR. Estimates indicate Texas has the largest EOR potential by far. However, with oil prices over $120/barrel, several states have recoverable oil deposits potentially worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
